On this special day, April 7, I celebrate my wonderful husband's birthday and another very special person, my hero's, Papa. It is very special for my husband and grandfather to share the same day. However, Papa is no longer with us, I can still remember him calling Kyle on their birthday to tell him he was loaning him his birthday date! It was a great inside joke Papa shared with Kyle and I.
A day has not gone by that I don't think of Papa and wish he was back for me to call or any of this other grandkids, to check in and see how him and grandma are, what he has been up to. To see those blue eyes that reflected such kindness and love. To be able to talk to him on the phone after church about the sermon we had, to read one more letter from him and hug him.
I celebrate this day honoring Papa and loving him and the very special man that is the love of my life. Only once in a lifetime could I be so blessed to have them both in my lives. There are constant memories that were made that I reflect on and present memories to be made.
Kyle and Papa share many of the same characterstics. I can remember being so excited to have the two of them meet. God works in mysterious ways and this is a reflection of His work. How lucky am I to have two loves share some special days together.
So Happy Birthday Kyle and Papa. I love you both so much. Thank you for all your love and for being my hero.
