It has been a quiet, and cold Saturday afternoon. We have spent the majority of the day indoors. Ella is perfecting the potty, yeah!!! Kyle is off harvesting so, the girls rule the house this evening.
I have baked cookies and muffins and planning a bit of a southern dinner, of red beans and rice! Yummy for me and Ella has asked for chicken and fries! Big surprise, she has not branched out much. We are trying to get her to eat other things and if she refuses then she goes hunger except for her milk before bed time.
I am excited about my Cowboys winning!!! YEAH. The game was not on, but I checked on-line and ESPN several times for score updates.
I have lots of work for MOPS and work to get done, but instead, blog here and check on some things online. I bought Ella some shirts on Old Navy and it was so nice to get them on-line and not worry about Ella running around the store and having to search for the right size. I am becoming more of a on-line shopper with each day that my child gets more confidence and energy to roam (run) through the stores.
Well, I better get dinner started.
GO POKES!! Keep it up for Bedlam. Makes me miss homecoming and walkaround and all those fun times and games! I am loyal to OSU. Cannot wait for Ella to go there someday!!!!

Boone Pickens Called Me!

Being a proud OSU alumni, I have to believe that on this past Friday night, when a Boone Pickens called me, it was because I am a Cowboy like him. Well, it was a pre-recording, but I was jumping up and down with excitement. It could have been that I was stuck in doors with my lovely-not- feeling-well two-year-old, or maybe I was just so darn tired I was in need of a good pick-me-up.
Anyway, I listened to his message, nodding my head and still in aah of how he got my number and then had to provide my email address to learn more. Well, due to my excitement and trying to tell Kyle who was on the phone I gave the wrong email, I left out two digest in my hotmail account and in the background you can hear Kyle saying I gave them the wrong number. GREAT, now how is Boone going to get a hold of me. Shoot! But it sure was exciting. Maybe he will call back.

And it's Monday again
The weekend went by fast, as did that hurricane. It appears the Ike was not as bad, but still left a messy aftermath for many to come home to face. Lots of prayers were directed to family members in the path and that the damages would be few.
Our weekend consisted of lots of kids stuff. We had friends up from Nebraska, Kyle's best friend from grade school is now stationed in Nebraska, only a quick 2 1/2 hours away. Lots of football was watched by the boys and the Moms and kids played outside. It was a fun time and Ella enjoyed having someone to play with her toys with her.
We cooked a feast for dinner, which was fun, since our table and chairs are not used to their potential near enough.
Ella and I attended Sunday school on Sunday. Ella had a blast and had lots to say about God on the way home, what a great gift. Amen. I had to say some prayers for patience as I attempted to lead the first grade class, we did fine, but I plan to come to church early next week and be better prepared, it was a little overwhelming for the first time, but I have another parent/helper in their that is familiar with the kids from last year so that helps. I am thankful for the opportunity and know I will gain more than I give. Makes me confirm how great teachers are!

Promises, promises
I know I said I would post during vacation, but I must admit that I turned my computer off, BlackBerry and had little to no phone service all weekend long, and it was GREAT!
We spent the weekend in the Black Hills of South Dakota and in and out of national forests and parks, all three of us had a blast.
Here is a play by play of the weekend....
Friday: Ella and I sleep in and then begin to slowly pack. I do two loads of laundry, sort out snacks, juice boxes, sippy cups, milk, clothes, pillows, DVDs and books for the car. I even help Kyle pack, something I protest about all the time!!!! We get everything loaded, with the amount of stuff we had in the truck, you would of thought we were going on a cross-country trip. We head into town for Ella's one year ear/tube check up and hear (hehe) great news. One tube is in tack and the other is in her ear drum and in the process of making a exit. Overall, things look great and we shouldn't have too much problem, unless we get half a dozen ear infections this fall and winter. I am praying for none, maybe one for good measure.
Next, we stop for lunch at Cracker Barrel, might as well get a good home cooked meal before we leave, right!!! We ran into our previous daycare provider and caught up with her, it was nice to see her and see how her family is doing. She was just a sweet lady and great with Ella. After we load our tummies, we take off. Ella and I take a nap for about a hour and continue to look at our surroundings. The landscape really changes we you cross the river into the western part of the state, a lot more cows and hay and fewer to no row crops. We only made two stops and made it into Rapid City before dinner time. We headed first to Storybook Island, a great FREE kid park with all kinds of outdoor slides, houses, swings, water and characters from Disney to great story book characters to play with. Ella loved it.

After a nice dinner, we scanned the brochures at the hotel and mapped out the next day. Ella was great in the room, we got a mini suite, with a her room consisting of a sleeper sofa and a door to close off our room. It worked out perfect and Dad and Mom didn't have to retire when the little one did! Kyle thought of this.
Saturday- We rose early and with the time difference it really worked to our advantage. We went to Bear COuntry USA first, and it was perfect timing as all the animals were eating the morning breakfast and we close to us. Ella got to drive with Dad and loved that. The bear cubs had loads of energy and were fun to watch play.
Driving with Dad and pointing out animals to us!
Following Bear County we went to Mt.Rushmore. Wow, it was amazing and talk about making you feel proud to be a American! We hiked around Mt. Rushmore and got tons of pics of the "Four Dudes that Did" as I like to refer to them .

Next stop was driving through Needles Highway, which has lots of twists and turns, but great views and wildlife. We traveled into Custer State Park and had lunch at Legion Lake, pretty lake, not great food but that is ok. We got to feed the begging burros, which thanks to KMoss, I had marshmallows for them to eat, they loved us!!!!

From Custer we went and explored Sylvan Lake (not sure if spelled correct) and hiked around the famous lake, Katie J recommended this to us and I loved it, plus National Treasure 2 had some clips from this beautiful lake. We walked all around it and was a fun time.

Will have another post with the remainder of the weekend. Promise!

The 100th
Special day, this is my 100th posting and I have several things to spill/share.
First, finally we went as a family to a Sioux Falls Baseball game, very exciting, popcorn, wild fans and a very slow game. Thanks to Katie for the idea, and we even ran into a coworker!! We didn't make it to the fireworks, but that is ok.
Doty Scott is here, our dear friends in Mississippi have much to celebrate, the arrival of their son, Doty! Lauren and Allan are good friends and they bought our house in Leland, Lauren has the house looking ten times better than I ever did. They have a precious daughter and now a little boy to make their family four!!! Yeah to them. Another fun thing...the daycare in the neighborhood had a carnival yesterday. We walked over and Ella played lots of games and jumped on the moon-bounce for ever!!! It was long enough, Kyle bailed on me and went home. Ella had her first snow cone and loved it, as well as getting it all over herself, oh well. A much needed nap and she was ready for the evening. We headed to the school playground for a fun family evening.
Later I worked on packing for a work trip and folded clothes, watched the Olympics and went to bed.
Sunday- A great morning, cool outside and we slept in til almost 8. Not bad. Went to church, though the bad side is the nursery has not been available or open for weeks and it has been a experience with Ella with us. She is quiet but loses interest in everything quickly. We have been back and forth with keeping her interested in the halls during service. I am hoping to get her enrolled in the two-year old children's church this fall, I hope to assist in another class too!!
Lots of other stuff, work related and I have been busy with some MOPS stuff. I love it! The newsletter is almost done and we are starting a blog too! So I am getting the kinks worked out of it right now, our first meeting is in three weeks and i look forward to meeting everyone and see some familiar faces too!
And with the Olympics coming to a in and the political conventions starting I have decide my TV time is going to the treadmill. I need to shed some much needed pounds. I did the opposite this year, gained weight during the summer instead of lost. Better get ride of those pounds now.
Thanks for reading!!! To another 100!

Good times, and some cleaning too
This weekend was near perfect.
Kyle bought a grill, we ran errands, had a nice lunch outing (Taco Bell, but Ella liked it) as a family and even slept in both mornings. Can't complain about that.
We started off Saturday with me getting to sleep in, Ella and Kyle made breakfast, and then we started to sort through just about every closet and loaded up five huge trash bags filled with clothes, shoes, (by the way two of the three shoes have come in!!!) toys, kitchen tools never to be used, and so on. We loaded up and dropped these items off, went to lunch, checked out some items at Lowes, bought a pole and tool to clean the windows (more to come on this) and did a quick run into Sams.
We later went to Lurvern, MN, about 15 minutes from here to help Kyle select his new grill. They had popcorn at the store so Ella and I ate popcorn and helped the painful process of Kyle debating over which grill to purchase. Finally he picked on and then we went to the park for a while, came home and broke the grill in with hamburgers.
We watched the USA in several events, and Michael get his record breaking gold.
Sunday we rose late but both of us were up before Ella, which was funny to me. I made pancakes and set out my pizza dough for lunch. We all got ready and went to church. Good sermon and Ella even participated in children's church at the front, with some encouragement from Mom ;).
We made pizza when we got home and some carmel chex mix for Kyle and his coworkers for tomorrow's road trip to Iowa. We then put Ella down for a nap, with little protest and then Kyle and I set out to clean windows. Now I have checked into having the windows cleaned, it can be done for about $50, but knowing Kyle, we bought the tools to do it ourselves, yippee! Actually, the windows look darn good for two non-professional window cleaners. Some of the windows will fold in which is nice, but we have a couple of big ones on the second floor, so now they are all clean.
Kyle is grilling steaks and I veggies steaming right now, we plan to watch the Olympics tonight and get Ella down early.
And Ella is getting used to this potty training, two successes today... will keep you update on how this goes this week.

The weekend is almost here
I am ready for the weekend. Not sure what we will do yet, hopefully the weather will cooperate. Ella and I plan to hit the mall and do some shopping this afternoon. Miss Ella is in need of new shoes, and being her mom purchased some earlier this week, I should return the favor, right!
This weekend also brings the norm of laundry, clean house, grocery shopping (might do that today).
I would like to purchase some pizza dough and make fresh pizza this weekend, as I have a nice basil planting growing and haven't picked a leaf so far. This just might be the weekend to do it.
An another note, heard the coolest thing, the Christian station I listen to is doing a Drive Through Difference, where you go through a drive through and purchase the driver behind's meal/coffee, etc. and pass along a note. I am hoping to do this today as well. I have always had this real compelling feeling to do this or give the toll booth attendee a $20 during our holiday drives to Oklahoma and Texas and pay for the tolls of those drivers behind us. I hope to do this too.
Will let you know how both the weekend and the Drive Through Difference goes!

It has been almost a week, no it has been
Time has flown by at our house and work and everything in between. It has been way to long, hard to know where to start. Maybe I should start with the weekend and work back or at least see how far I can get. I have been busy at work, preparing for farm shows and other items and home life is busy too, imagine that. Ella keeps us in high speed all the time. Here are some of the new things she is saying to us
Mom, I want to go shoppin!
Mom, I need a haircut
Mom (or Dad), I want to hold you.
Don't be scared mommy (this was when we were going over a suspension bridge at a park the other weekend- I was scared!)
And she loves to watch the swimming and diving competition during the Olympics. She watches in amazement and applauds when they finish a dive or swim. It is fun to watch her.
This weekend we went to Falls Park and walked around the falls. Following this we headed to downtown and had lunch at 'The Diner" It was very good and Ella enjoyed herself. Following this the three of us walked around downtown and looked at the various scriptures on display. We then went to the Washington Pavilion and hung out in this super cool kids room for Ella to play and do arts and crafts. After all of this we headed home and Ella took a nap, we changed and had Miss Katie over to watch Ella so we could go on a date of movie and dinner. We saw Batman Returns and later had BBQ with friends. It was fun.
Sunday was a movie day, we played hookie from church and hung out in our PJs til noon watching movies. Later Kyle and Ella went to the park and I did some MOPS work and picked up some items at the grocery store. We watched the Olympics that afternoon and even stayed up way past our bedtime to see the men's swimming relay. It was a sweet victory and the French won't be saying too much before any more swim meets anymore.
We are thinking about going to the Blacks Hills for Labor Day weekend, looking forward to seeing the fab four on the side of the mountain. It will be a nice family get-a-way, not Disneyland, but a step in that direction...hehe.
Thanks for reading and sorry it has taken so long to get back on the horse.

I got more than a t-shirt from NYC

So for the past weeks, since Kyle has returned from New York City I have not been shy about letting the world know that I got a t-shirt from NYC while my mother-in-law got a Tiffany & Company necklace from my father-in-law. Now I know Kyle was with his Dad while purchasing this item and was disappointed to not receive a baby blue bag and box. I should note that my sweet little girl has two Tiffany & Company pieces that she received as a infant, I celebrated when I opened these gifts, but always knew they were hers and not mine.
Anyway, I have several beautiful piece of jewelry from Kyle, he has been very good to me over the years, from our dating phase to marriage. SO I shouldn't complain.
This weekend was spent at the zoo in Omaha with the daycare family and kids and their siblings and family, it was a lot of fun and the zoo was a blast. Ella went all day long and loved every minute of it. Sunday was our five year wedding anniversary and Kyle was off to Denver to a conference he would be speaking at. He found a shuttle to take so Ella and I could snooze and sleep in before traveling home. Kyle woke me that morning and told me to open my eyes, and their sat a baby blue bag with the simple Tiffany & Company script. I woke up!
I opened a little box with a beautiful necklace with a heart charm. Very nice indeed. I am proudly wearing it today. Man, he had me fooled this time. I was sure I would only be sporting the t-shirt as my token from his trip, but I got something even better.
Don't ask me what I got him to celebrate this milestone, I am still working on it. He has set the bar pretty high.

Ella's Back!
We are a home of three now! Yeah. She had a great time in Oklahoma and was happy to see us. We had a nice dinner with Kyle's parents in KC Friday night, and Saturday they headed out and we spent the day with friends. We went to Rainforest Cafe in a KC mall. Ella loved it then to a children's play and interactive center where the kids played and so did the adults. The ride home was long, we made several stops and rolled in a little after 10 p.m.
Both Kyle and I are getting tired of I-29 North and South, it is not the most entertaining highway in the US.
Today Ella and I went to the grocery store and loaded up, amazing I can spend $20 for Kyle and I and will blow over $100 when a little one comes around. My shines are no worse to wear from Ella's shopping cart hitting me.
Now Ella is sleeping, Kyle is in the field, I have laundry going and am making what feels like a breakfast tomorrow for 50. I enjoy cooking and baking so it is nice to make some different things, just hope it feeds everyone. I have made a special breakfast for some (Katie this is you my friend) while others gets a cheesy, sausage egg bake. I hope all of it is good. I figure make it now while the house is quiet, then get up early tomorrow, maybe even exercise and get the stuff in the oven, and remember to bring it.
I also have rolls rising for dinner tonight, might put them in the oven now so they don't get too big. Other than this, not much else going on. The house is slowly getting back in order. Ella is in love with her kitchen again and has kitchen items and play food scattered throughout her room.
She fought taking a nap and wanted to go to the park, but after some convincing and rocking in the chair downstairs she was down for the count. She is currently into her second hour of slumber. Lucky girl.
Once Ella wakes up it will be pool time and park time. Can't wait.

Weekend
As usual, I try and give you a peak at what the weekend was like around our household. So here goes.
Saturday we headed to the park in Sioux Falls to support our super great friend for a great cause, it was a three mile walk, and with a 30-plus pound kid, it was a workout for ole' mom. But i needed it and treated ourselves to so yummy Mexican later. Headed to the mall afterwards, picked up swimming shorts for Kyle and returned some items at Best Buy. Ella fought to take a nap on the way home, so we watched a new movie I got her and I almost fell asleep instead. Finally, after both Kyle and I laid down with her in our bed, and her sorting the pillows in various orders and moving blankets, looking at our eye balls, we left her be and she finally went to bed. Yeah.
I attend a jewelery party for a MOPs mom at her house not too far from the house, ordered a really cool beaded necklace. I still need to get one from my co-worker, she makes the coolest jewelery from silverware and other items. Anyway, so I met a few people and then began dinner for Kyle and Ella, as I had book club later that night. Ella woke up about a half hour before I left, got her changed, a movie on and munching on crackers as I walked out the door.
Book club was so much fun, I talk to much and am naive to several things they talk about, they much think I live under a rock. But the company was great and I look forward to the next gathering.
Sunday we returned some things, including the shorts I got Kyle, they were too big, and I got some new flip flops at Eddie Bauer (YEAH on sale for $10.00) Kyle got some clothes for the NYC trip. We ate at Hu Hot, a Mongolian restaurant, were you pick out your meat selection, noodles, veggies and sauce, the go around a horseshoe table and watch these cooks cook up your food over a hot stove top. Ella like the veggies and Kyle really likes it too. I like it to and try not to over eat.
After all the shopping and eating, we headed home and Ella and I spent close to three hours pool side in the backyard. We had fun, i even got in her pool with her. Kyle sprayed her with the hose numerous times and she laughed and ran around.
Later, we made a light dinner, worked on laundry and picking up the house, and I got Ella packed for the trip, tonight I will tackle my clothes and work on getting everything lined up to go in the car. I have a list a mile long of things to remember to pack, bring and get ready. Plus we still have no one to pick up the mail and water the plants, though I might solve that by putting the plants in areas that the sprinklers will get them. Need to talk to the neighbors tonight.
Back to work! Fill you in tomorrow.

Better late than never
With a sick kid at home, I was not very good at blogging over the weekend and though I tried to get caught up on work yesterday, it was still a lot. So today, I recap my weekend in a shorter version. Ella is better now, too!
I feared the weekend would go on forever, being home with Ella on Friday, I don't mean this negative, but when you go solo you are ON all the time. Anyway, we stayed close to home, went out once to pay daycare and pick up a few plants on Friday. Ella's temp was down and she slept in her bed that night, yeah. I made some calls that evening and read.
Saturday, Ella rose as a healed child. With that we made the decision to head to Luverne, MN and see the Buffalo Parade, just a city celebration, but two-year-olds love parades and the candy involved. Following the parade we went to the park where a art/craft show was taking place along with several kid activities. We played in the play ground for a least a hour, going from the swing to slides, she was the master and called out my name to let me know where she was headed next! Ella rode the kiddy train powered by a lawn mower and loved it. She was in a yellow car and was so proud. By this time we have worked off half a day, so we headed home for the ole faithful three hour nap, AWESOME.
Later that day we worked in the yard, planted the flowers and went to the store so i could think about starting laundry. We went to bed a little later than usual, but Ella was in a great mood.
Sunday we headed to church, in which Ella took a nap for half the service in the nursery. We then went to a friends apartment to pick up some makeup, as I didn't think I was willing to take Ella into the same place I broke their entrance door. We went to the mall and got some gifts and then headed to the park by the river. We saw lots of bunnies, I believe South Dakota to be the Bambi capital of the world, they all live here!!!
We then went home, cleaned out the car, got all the milk spots off the seats and vacuumed up numerous crumbs and cereal. Then I attempted to mow the lawn, moving Ella around the house with me so I could keep a eye on her. We made a light dinner and I turned Ella in early to catch the season premier of Army Wives, on Lifetime. It was great.
I ended the weekend with a nice mowed lawn, tiddy house, laundry completed and a healthy girl, not to bad for doing it alone.

Nice weekend
It was a really nice weekend, considering we didn't do too much. With my Friday afternoon, I attempted to get a head start on laundry. Lesson learned, no matter how soon you start laundry, it never gets wrapped up until Sunday night! Picked up a couple of books at the library, no number two diapers this time, ice cream at drive in and home to relax the rest of the afternoon.
I met a couple of friends at a Irish pub for dinner and drinks and we listened to two cool guys play guitar and sing. One even wore a Dekalb hat, so I had to brag to Kyle about this. Was the nice wife and picked up ice cream upon a request from Kyle on my way home.
Saturday we filled up Ella's new pool, even had a line of both Kyle and I back and forth from the downstairs bathroom to provide warmer water for the pool. It was really cold! We even boiled two hug pots of water to off set the almost freezing temperatures! Ella and I then headed to get some groceries, Ella utilized the kiddy cart and had a blast, we always have the cart over-flowing with food. Then we made lunch, Kyle left to go to work, planting, and we watched Tom and Jerry, played kitchen followed by a three hour nap.
Once Ella rose, we were downstairs ready for the pool and spent the remainder of the day in the backyard.
I was Miss Homemaker and put a roast in the crock pot- one of the world's best inventions, and presto, dinner was waiting for us when we changed out of wet suits and Kyle walked in the door. We went for a walk and earlier that day made cupcakes to take to the new neighbors, they are very nice and have grandkids Ella's age. Later that night, after playing with Ella, Kyle and I settled in for the National Treasure movie, very good, and being that some of it was centered in South Dakota, we got a peak at what the western side of the state looks like.
Sunday, Ella ran a pit of a temp, maybe new teeth so we skipped church, I worked on a Mexican dish for dinner this evening (Monday) and we went into town. We went to the car wash, Kyle's truck was in desperate need of a cleaning. Then we headed to the super-huge golf store, where Kyle got to get new golf shoes for Father's Day and check out new clubs (this is his anniversary gift), Ella did it again. Something about public places give her the ability to cause me to grab her and run out of the building. So after a changing, we played hide and seek in the store while Kyle did who know what. Finally, we got the shoes and headed to lunch at Apple Bees. This followed a stop to Staples for office supplies, Ella and I hung out in the truck and I chatted with a friend while Miss Ella slept. Then to Target for new pillows for Kyle and I, sunscreen, and some new tops and outfits for Ella.
After all of these errands we went home and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool, several of the neighbors came over and played with us.
Later that evening, the three of us loaded up in the truck, stopped at the neighbor girl's lemonade stand and drove around looking at farm land. It was really fun, we saw some beautiful farms and Ella enjoyed the cows and dairies we went by.
I wrapped up the last of the laundry and poor Ella continued her up and down on her fever, it was a long evening, but no fever today. I believe it to be a combination of lots of sun, and teeth.

Our Holiday Weekend
Now that the cat problem is somewhat under control I can talk about our weekend. Here is a breakdown on the days:

Friday– Ran lots of errands after work, went to the ear doctor and Ella's ear tubes are still in, YEAH, after nine months, though one is clogged, but Dr. Avery assures me this is fine and completely normal. So I am going to trust his years of medical school. After this we went to my favorite bread store and then went home to play. I headed to a dinner party with several co-workers, it was a southern theme and I made fried okra and smoked out their new home and kitchen, way to go Nicola, leave your mark where-ever you go!
Saturday– Ella and I headed to the library after a nice breakfast by Chef Kyle. Ella loves the library, they have a area devoted to little ones with a castle and loads of books and puzzles. Ella had a great time and I found some good reads for the next couple of weeks. One horror moment, Ella is running up and down the allies of books and I catch a drift of something- Yup Miss Ella did a number 2 in her pants and I, the irresponsible mom, have no diapers or wipes (the library is only a couple of miles from the house), and I feel my face turn bright red. I immediately check out the books in my hand and get Ella out of this public building ASAP.
After the clean up, we made lunch, hung out and began laundry. I debated going to the grocery store and ended up taking a nap with Ella. Kyle got bored and went to a baseball game in a neighboring town. When Ella and I rose from our two our afternoon nap we went to the grocery store. Lucky girl, I went down the candy row and she got a sucker and had to have it right then, talk about instant gratification. Once we were home I decide to make fried catfish and hush puppies, the catfish was awesome, brought back the times in Mississippi!
Kyle watched a scary movie that I did not like and went to bed early.
Sunday– We headed to church in town, Ella had a grand time in the nursery, though she was with us for a little bit, then got restless, so went and played. It was a very good sermon, one directed towards some of my character, my very strong ability to worry about everything (from the homeless cat we have acquired to work to Ella to the laundry). After church we headed home, leftover for lunch and then outside to play. Kyle mowed the lawn and Ella found her pool from last year. So we had it blown up with this super old air-compressor of my Papa's and found the garden hose and filled it up. It was freezing. Then off to get the suits on. Ella was ready. As a distraction we went to the local flower nursery and purchased a few more annuals for the porch, but still with suits on ready to throw ourselves into the water. After I bathed us in sunscreen, got the chairs, books, camera, ice tea with lemon, radio and towels, we settled in for a three and half hour pool session.
Kyle was golfing during this time and we had popcorn for supper. (A Freeman tradition).
Monday- Unfortunately it was cold :( So we bundled up and ran errands and attended two, that is right, two cook outs. With coworkers and friends. One was in the afternoon, with kiddos for Ella to play with a a bounce thingy, like a moon walk, but smaller. Ella loved this. Then to our daycare providers house later after much needed naps for Kyle and Ella. It was fun for the kids to play and us adults to chat and catch up. We made it home for a bath, books and the cries of the poor lost cat. And well, you know that story now.
My video is too big to post, over a minute long, I need to change the settings, but here are some photos. Kena- she ate my lemon.
Here is the lemon Mom, you eat it.
Yummy!
Being funny!
Lauren- if you can see if you can show Miss Sue this clip. I can't seem to email them. I must have the wrong address. Please let her know about the site! Thanks!

A windy, warm Saturday
This is one of the first Saturday's of the spring that has been warm enough for us to be in shorts and not jackets! To celebrate this, we headed to the zoo today, along with some other friends and little ones! It was a blast. Ella loved seeing all the animals and I must admit the monkeys were in full force swinging and hollering with much gusto! Ella's response to the was a Ooh and go away monkeys! Overall it was a fun morning. We finished off the experience we a trip to McDonalds, nothing beats three moms and a dad and three kiddos. Lots of Happy Meals.
Ella was asleep within five minutes of us traveling home, which gave me time to think about stuff. This spanned from wanting to purchase herbs and tomato plant to writing some personal letter to completing the laundry! So know Ella is asleep and the washer and dryer are in full force and I am blogging. After I finish this post, I am going to work on a book for Ella. I made her one for her first year and am now crafting the second one, naps on the weekend give me time to work on this little project that I think she will appreciate down the road.
The next issue to tackle is getting back on the exercise horse and getting this body moving, since speeding the money on a nice swim suit, I should at least attempt to look good in it (in my mind that is).
I have loads on posting ideas for the future, some that will ask for you (the devoted r
eaders) for input or suggestions.
(The photo is of Ella feeding a goat at the zoo, I have a feeling she is going to enjoy her grandparents houses this summer and all their farm animals.)
