Life childless

So this past week there have only been two sets of feet in our house. Miss Ella has been soaking up the Oklahoma sun and heat with her grandparents and Kyle and I have been living like non-parents, just working. I have to admit we have done nothing outside the norm.
First night: Ate a late dinner with wine, whoo! And then he mowed the yard while I cleaned and dusted the china cabinet. Wow real exciting stuff.
Second night: Went to dinner at a place that Ella's patience would not allow us to wait quietly to get table. Had a nice meal, strolled through Toys R Us with no child, I saw things for the first time! Hung out with some of Kyle's co-workers later on. Fun but a late night.
Third night: A get together with some friends for drinks and apps, this never happens, so that was really fun. Later met up with my MOPS coordinator to discuss items for the upcoming year, got home after 10 p.m.
Tonight: Dinner with friends, hopefully I can get some laundry done and pack for tomorrow (we head down to Kansas City to pick Ella up and see some friends).

Overall, I have cooked once, clean dishes still in the sink, haven't changes a diaper, filled a sippy cup, woke a sleeping child, watched a Disney DVD, sang fun songs to daycare, cut up food for little mouths, applied bubble bath to the tub or kissed a sleeping girl good night. I am ready for a big hug and to hear "mom or mommie" come out of Ella's mouth. I miss her. I have really enjoyed this time with Kyle, though we haven't done loads of stuff, but it is nice to reconnect and I appreciate my family doing this for us.

Only one more day!
