Midland verse Mainland

Mainland County, Texas (opposite side of the state)!

I made a mistake today...a bad one.

We have a family member in the hospital in Texas right now and wanted to send flowers to her today. I had written down, from my mother-in-law the name of the hospital and room number- Mainland County Hospital. For some reason I had in my head Midland Hospital and looked this up, called and was directed to a local flower shop. I provide the hospital- Midland, name of patient and room number. I thought I had it all wrapped up.

I am thinking "great I am going to get her flowers this morning, excellent!"

Then the phone rang...'Nicola, this is the flower shop (lost of words for the name right now), we are trying to deliver your flowers and the hospital does not have a listing of her name and they do not have a room 254.

My first thought is that Daphyn has been released- great- I can have them sent to her home.
I ask the flower lady if I can call back with a home address and would she be willing to send them to Texas City, which is like maybe 10 miles away. Her response...

"Nicola, that is like 500 miles from here, but I would happy to find you a florist down there to send the flowers to."

Insert me realizing I need to re-look at my notes one more time. Yup- major screw up and it all me. I should of being looking up MAINLAND Co. Hospital, not MIDLAND.

I have come to this conclusion and have to call the nice flower lady back and tell her to cancel the order because I am a idiot.

The story is true and makes a good post for the day.
