Freeman Easter 2009

We had a great Easter, filled with many activities and events.
Saturday started off with the Brandon Easter Egg hunt at 10 am. We arrived just a few minutes before the released everyone in the baseball diamonds to search for a golden egg and collect candy along the way. Ella had a good time, though the hunt only lasted about five minutes, we think we might pass on this event next year. Too many kids and not enough candy!!!

In the middle of the pack, looking for candy!
In search of the golden egg.

Following our first Easter egg hunt of the year, we headed home to work on dying the eggs. I thought it would be a fun afternoon project. I boiled a dozen eggs, with the exception of one breaking when I dropped it in the water, so we decorated 11.

Prepping for dying the eggs.

Coloring the eggs

Mom helps too!

Adding some special effects to our eggs with colored sand.

The finished project.

After a nice nap, I ironed Ella's Easter dress and set out her outfit for Sunday. Later on we had friends over for dinner. The kids played and us adults enjoyed the company together.

Sunday morning we had a nice breakfast, thanks to chef Kyle.  And the Easter bunny visited Miss Ella, she hit the jackpot this year. With me being home, I put a little more thought and a lot more time into Easter around this home this year.

We all got ready and headed to Sioux Falls for the Sunday school program which consisted on lots of fun craft projects for all the kids. We made paper flowers and butterflies for the cross that will be on display this coming Sunday. Following church we took time for some photos.

Then it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt at our house. Now it was sunny but not very warm, so we put on coats and took a look around to see what Mr. Easter Bunny had left in the yard for Ella.

After the hunt we had a light lunch, I made Yaya's baklava to take to our friend's house for later that day, and Ella and Dad watched a movie. We headed to Minnesota later that afternoon and had another egg hunt and a wonderful meal.

So as you can see, we had a full weekend of celebrating Easter.

Your daughter is quite possibly the CUTEST KID ON THE PLANET!

And I loved seeing a few belly shots ... when can we get together? You sound so busy.
